Early Spring? Updates
Here's a quick update to
fill you in on new fabric arrivals, new additions to the class
schedule, and the finale of the Unfortunate Fat Quarter
competition.

CLASSES ADDED
Saturday, April 25th "Quick as a Wink" (pictured) with Lynn Ray.
Saturday, May 2nd "Pocket Perfect Purse" with Lynn Ray.
Saturdays, May 9th and 16th "Designer Purse" with Maryquinn Boyd (class
is two sessions).
Mondays, June 15th and 22nd "Designer Purse" with Maryquinn Boyd (class
is two sessions).
Saturday, June 20th "Toothbrush Rug" with MaryKay Tointon.

 UNFORTUNATE FAT QUARTER CONTEST
All
entries for the UFQ contest are now on display in the shop. Of
the 39 fat quarters picked up, we received 21 entries which are now up
for voting. The voting is using a "Change Wars" format, so once
you've picked your favorite (or favorites!), simply donate as much
change as you want to the entry you want to vote for. When voting
ends on Wednesday, April 15, the winning entrant will receive 12 fat
quarters of her choosing. All proceeds from the voting will be
donated to the Avon Township Food Pantry.

Jo Morton Club was postponed
and will begin on Thursday, April 16th at 10:30am and Wednesday, April
22nd at 6pm. Please sign up ASAP as I must prepay Jo for the
patterns before she will send them. The cost is $30 for six monthly
demos, each with a pattern. Fabric kits and bundles will be available.
The first sample is on display and Diana is hard at work on the second.
April is double stamp month for Martingale books. Receive two stamps
for each Martingale book purchased in April! Martingale will send you a
free book when you accumulate 9 punches. Be sure to check out our new
books including Kathleen Tracy's newest, "Remembering Adelia." This
charming book has patterns for lap quilts, doll quilts, a sewing kit,
and a fabric covered journal interspersed with diary entries from 1861
Illinois. Kathleen Tracy will visit our store on
Saturday, April 25th, from 10:30 until noon to sign your copy of the
book.
International
Quilt Festival tickets are available for the Rosemont show. Senior
tickets are $8; regular admission tickets are $10 and include a ticket
for the Thursday night preview as well as a ticket for any other day.
The festival runs from April 16th -19th. Tickets will be sold at Quilt Play
through Thursday, April 16th, only.
We have had several requests for a list of local organizations that
would like to receive donated quilts. Please let us know of any such
organizations, including a telephone number and contact person, and we
will get a list together so quilters know who can use various sized
quilts. Thanks as always for your generosity!
