Late May Newsletter

It seems that we are getting a taste of spring now - though we can still

rightly claim that our two seasons are winter and construction. Given

that weekends now seem better spent outdoors, after May 24th, Quilt

Play will be closed on Sundays. Well, on most Sundays - we will be open

the last Sunday of each month for shopping downstairs and an informal

sit n sew upstairs. Bring along a hand sewing project, a work in progress,

show and tell - whatever you would like.

If you are coming in from out of town, have out of town guests, or a

quilting emergency, call the store during regular hours, and we can

almost surely work something out if Sunday is your only chance to stop

by.

Summer hours:

Monday - Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

*Wednesdays open until 7:00pm*

Sit N Sew Sundays

Join us upstairs  in the class room area on May 24th,

June 28th, July 26th, and August 30th for an informal

Sit n Sew session.
Please let us know in advance if you

have a specific quilting question and we will plan to

address it on those days. Bring along a project to work on.  If you'd like,

bring  some bits from your stash that you aren't sure you love anymore

and adopt them out to a good home with a fellow quilter.

Now that the weather is creeping into the 80s, guess what kind of

fabric has sneaked in already? Um,  yes, I'll admit it... Christmas! For

those of us who think anything over 75F is really overdoing it, think

snow with Henry Glass's line of snowfolk and coordinates called "More

Holiday Spirit." Ten bolts arrived on Friday, joining Moda's charm

packs and jelly rolls from "Glace.'"

Remember, long arm quilting deadlines for Christmas delivery can

come as early as September 1st, so stop in for the best selection and to

give yourself plenty of time to complete holiday gifts.

We also have an adorable new line of baby flannels called "Clothesline

Kids" - it has a cute panel that is perfect for pairing with any of the

many fabrics in the line to create handy little burp cloths edged with

jumbo rickrack in coordinating colors.

One more thing - if you see a cool new notion in a magazine or online,

stop in and ask or give us a call. I place notions orders weekly, and I am

happy to look for that nifty new toy you need. In some cases, I may

already have what you are looking for - Triangulations cds, for example,

are kept behind the counter, as are a small stash of Organ needles - so

just ask!

Sincerely,

Shelley MacGregor
