Evening Hours!
Beginning January 7th, Quilt Play
will be open until 7pm on Wednesdays.
Day and time were chosen by survey
respondents.
Please come see us!
Quilt Play will continue to be open
on Sundays from 12 noon until 4pm
Bad Weather: If
schools are closed due to weather, chances are, we are too. I did
get a nice new 4 wheel drive (and put my pretty Mustang away for a
while) but I do not expect staff or customers to risk a nasty spinout
to get here. Please call if the weather is bad.

With my daughter in China, this will be a visually less
interesting edition of our newsletter. Here's hoping that the amount of
content will make up for that!
At last, the class
schedule for the beginning of 2009...
|
Block of the Month begins Saturday, January 3rd. Each
month, receive a pattern and fabric kit for a different block. The
fabrics will be a selection of pastel florals and marbles in mostly
pink, blue, and soft yellow, with white accents. We are easing into a
new BOM format.
Rather than fiddle
with a registration fee and variable monthly cost depending on whether
or not participants have completed their block or showed up on the
right day, and to avoid those annoying checkout lines every month,
there will be an $18 flat fee at the beginning of the year for the
whole
deal. No more "block police" to check up on your piecing progress. One
set of fabric for everyone will leave less chance for cutting and
packaging errors.
Please bear with us
and of course we welcome suggestions for the next round of blocks.
Block of the month
will meet for demo on the first Saturday and following Monday of each
month with these exceptions:
Since the first
Saturday in July is Independence Day, BOM will move to July 11th and
July 13th.
In September, BOM will
meet Saturday the 5th and Tuesday the 8th.

rotary cutter, and gridded ruler. Some classes require advance
preparation before class time, which will be explained on the supply
list.
IMPORTANT CLASS POLICIES
All classes must be
paid for at time of registration. Cancellation with one week or more
before class will receive a store credit for future class registration
or merchandise. Cancellation with less than a week before class will
forfeit registration fee unless there is a waiting list or you are able
to provide your own substitute. We can only accept a handful of
students since our classroom is so small, so please respect the
teacher's right to a full class and a fair wage.
Regular priced books,
patterns, fabric and notions purchased for class will be discounted
20%, Please tell us at the beginning of the transaction if your
purchase is for class.
The shop is in an old
house with poor insulation and circulation, so dressing in layers is a
must. You may find yourself more comfortable upstairs in a T-shirt, no
matter how frigid the outside (or downstairs!) air may be.
